It might not be anywhere near flood stage, but the Potomac River at Hancock is higher than It has been in the last couple months thanks to a rainy Memorial Day. Kirkwood Park, according to the National Weather Service, picked up .57 on an inch of rain between Saturday, May 23, and Tuesday morning, May 26. The river was sitting at just over nine feet on Tuesday morning with a projected crest of 15.3 feet on Thursday afternoon, May 28. Photo by Geoff Fox
