Pennsylvania State Police responded to an accident just after 8 a.m. on Friday, May 1, along Interstate 70 in the Warfordsburg area where a car struck a road sign on the shoulder.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on I-70 around the 169-mile marker when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left its lane of travel and drove onto the right shoulder.
The vehicle struck a road sign on the shoulder of the road, with a suspected initial point of contact with the left front of the vehicle due to the mirror of the vehicle located on scene.
Police said the unknown vehicle continued traveling east on the interstate and eventually into Maryland, undetected.
No injuries were reported, police said.
