Carol E. Moats
1940-2026
Carol E. Moats, 86, of McConnellsburg, Pa. passed away on May 04, 2026, at her home with her family by her side under Grane Hospice Care.
Carol was born on March 02, 1940, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., the daughter of the late Jacob W. Everts and Edith V. Keefer Seville.
Carol was a 1958 graduate of McConnellsburg High School where she was an avid basketball player. She enjoyed playing in a bowling league and was a scorekeeper for many softball games.
She worked as a seamstress at the Stanley Company in Chambersburg, Pa. until she retired. She later worked at Bi Lo Grocery store as the deli clerk.
Carol attended the Dublin Mills Community Church for many years, but more recently attended the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg, Pa.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed feeding the squirrels and putting puzzles together.
Carol is survived by her husband, Rickey D. Moats of McConnellsburg, Pa., one son, David Everts of Camp Hill, Pa., two daughters, Edith Souders and Belinda Ulsh, both of McConnellsburg, Pa., six grandchildren (Amanda, Kayla, Heather, Allen, Justin and Austin) and three great grandchildren. Carol is also survived by three siblings, Merrill D. Seville of McConnellsburg, Pa., Mark C. (husband of Judy) Seville of Chambersburg, Pa. and Linda (wife of Robert) Dickon of Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by four siblings, Daisy Burrall, Roy C. “Short” Seville, Harvey Seville, and Linn Seville and one son-in-law, Todd Ulsh.
An evening of visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at Kelso – Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 North Second Street McConnellsburg, PA 17233 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg, PA. Burial will follow at Laurel Ridge Cemetery in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
