The Panthers baseball team dropped four games in the last week, three of which were on the road.
In the first game, the Panthers traveled to Northern Garrett last Monday, April 27, and only managed two hits while getting shut out 7-0.
Bailei Ray and Tyler Clingerman picked up the Panthers’ two hits as they each went 1-3 in the contest.
Logan Hendershot and Braxton Hohn combined to go five innings, giving up five earned runs on four hits with five strike outs.
On April 30, the Panthers hosted the Global Vision Christian School Broadfording (formerly Broadfording Christian Academy) Lions where they lost 11-1.
Ray drove in the Panthers’ lone run going 1-2 with a walk.
Tyler Clingerman and Aden Clingerman combined to go five innings giving up eight earned runs on 9 hits.
The following day, May 1, the Panthers went down to Clear Spring for a five inning game that saw the Blazers put up 22 runs in a 22-2 loss.
Hendershot went 1-2 with a double and a run scored while Ray went 1-2 with a run scored and two stolen bases.
Four Panthers’ pitchers combined to throw four innings, giving up 19 earned runs on 12 hits and one strike out.
To close out the week, the Panthers traveled up I-68 to Frostburg to take on the Mountain Ridge Miners on May 2.
The Miners took the game 17-2.
Hohn went 1-3 for the Panthers with an RBI and scoring a run.
Ray went 1-2 with a triple and RBI, and Aden Clingerman went 1-2 with a double.
Three Panthers’ pitchers went four innings giving up 11 earned runs on eight hits with two strike outs.
The Panthers wrapped up the season on Monday, May 4, at Brunswick.
