Norma Lee Hixon Hill

1942-2026

Norma Lee Hixon Hill of Ft. Washington, Md., went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2026, at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, W,Va.

Norma was born August 21, 1942, at home in Buck Valley, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Grant and Carolyn Smith Hixon.

She is survived by her stepdaughter Tanya Ann Hill; Brother Gary Gant Hixon (Lola); Sister Francena Kay Davis; Sister-in-law Patricia Johnson (James); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bobby) Hill; stepson Brent Hill; brother Ronnie, and sisters Betty and Ellen.

She was a 1960 graduate of Southern Fulton High School.

Norma and Bobby were married December 21, 1974.

She was employed by the social security administration; London Fog; and after her marriage to Bobby, helped him manage his plumbing business R.C. Hill Plumbing and Heating Inc.

She faithfully attended Evangel Assembly of God in Camp Springs, Md.

Norma had many hobbies and interests including cooking, quilting, gardening, and travel. She enjoyed boating and spending time beside the ocean. She and Bobby owned a Goldwing motorcycle and did an 8,000-mile cross country road trip in their retirement years.

She was a devout Christian and had a deep love for Jesus. She set a wonderful example for her family of kindness and gentleness. She will be greatly missed but rejoice at her homecoming in Heaven.

The family received friends on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2 p.m., with one-hour prior visitation at Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267. Pastor Bill Croteau officiated.

In addition to flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., a place she thoroughly enjoyed visiting.

Arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
