The Hancock Panthers softball team picked up two wins in the last week with a 7-1 win over Turkeyfoot Valley Area and a 6-2 win over Southern Fulton.

In the game against Turkeyfoot Valley, the Panthers scored seven runs on 12 hits.

Taylor Weller went 4-4 in the game with four singles and scoring a run; Kaydence Gaither with 2-3 with two doubles, three RBI and scoring two runs; and Makensie Boyer went 3-4 with a double and scoring three runs.

Panther baserunners were active on the basepaths as they swiped four bases with Taylor Weller grabbing two bags. Boyer and Sydney True added one each.

Brooklyn McCusker went the entire seven innings giving up four hits, one of which was a home run that scored the Rams’ lone run, and striking out six Rams batters.

In their game up in Warfordsburg at Southern Fulton on April 17, the Lady Panthers took down the Indians 6-2.

Gaither stepped up going 3-4 with a single and a double and picking up an RBI. She also scored two runs and picked up a stolen base.

Weller and Maya Shoemaker each had a hit and two RBI and McCusker helped her cause by picking an RBI herself.

Shoemaker, True, and Makayla Sexton added to Gaither’s stolen base to give the Panthers four on the evening.

Again, McCusker went seven innings for the Panthers, giving up two runs on nine hits with one walk and three strike outs.

The Panthers softball team had a game Tuesday, April 21, against Mountain Ridge and Wednesday, April 22, at Turkeyfoot Valley, and one this Friday, April 24, at Southern Garrett.
