Bringing his 30 plus years of experience, Lynne Shirley has joined Bard’s Auto Repair.
Shirley has worked at other locations in the area, notably Douglas Motors and Zane Finney Corvette Restoration in the past.
Shirley said his first month at Bard’s has been good and he’s enjoying working at the shop, adding ownership has been very good as well.
The difference in places he’s worked, Shirley said, has been has been less stress and being able to do what he has to do and “nobody breathing down my neck.”
“That’s the biggest thing,” he added.

Mike Bard, owner of Bard’s Auto Sales and Auto Repair, said one thing Shirley can do at Bard’s is to “bake” which he’d never been able to do before with state-of-the-art equipment.
Baking, Bard said, is when a car is painted, and the paint is then allowed to harden, dry, and be more durable than if it were air-dried.
Bard said he’d been chasing after Shirley for a couple years because he’s well known and has the experience.
“If you can work for Zane Finney restoring Corvettes, I mean obviously you can do good work,” Bard said.
When Douglas Motors closed, Bard said, he kept in touch with Shirley who finally decided to make the move to Bard’s.
“We’re happy to have him,” Bard said.
Bard’s is located at 6583 Great Cove Road in Needmore.
