Hazel Irene McFadden
1934-2026
Hazel Irene McFadden, age 91, of Staunton, Va. and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Shenandoah House in Fishersville, Va.
Born July 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Corbin and Mary Ann Katherine Shade Corbin.
Hazel was a member of Faith In God Chapel. She attended Morgan County schools. She was employed by Vanguard as a seamstress.
She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her dogs, Dotty, Sophy and Bruno.
She is survived by one daughter, Stacey Ann McFadden of Staunton, Va. and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy McFadden in 2007; six sisters, Ruth E. Sipes, Eileen Stinebaugh Barnhart, Alta Elizabeth “Peggy” Phillips, Phyllis J. Smith, Nancy Lee Corbin and Mary Ellen Fox and one brother, David Leon Corbin.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastors Ken Dyar and David Kerns officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hazel’s memory may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
