LeEsta Anderson Koontz, age 91, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at War Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 6, 1934 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Garrison and Lillie Pauline Culp Rankin.

She was a member of Berkeley Springs Church of Christ.

LeEsta was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She worked as a seamstress with Londontown Manufacturing in Hancock, Md. with 29 years of service.

LeEsta enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling, gardening, baking and spending time with her family.

LeEsta is survived by her daughters, Janice Diane Payne and Shari Robin Brown both of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., two stepchildren, Debra Ann Haeussler of Naples, Fla. and Gregory Dale Koontz of Telford, Pa., eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, seven step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence H. “Junior” Anderson on October 10, 1997 and her second husband, Robert William Koontz, Jr. on December 6, 2018, one daughter, Karen Darlene Harshman, one sister, Rita Lea Lutman and three brothers, Vernon Garrison Rankin, Carl Warner Rankin and James Lester Starliper.

Funeral services will be conducted on 11 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ, 290 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Joshua Hetrick officiating. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
