Public hearing to be held on plans to replace Sipes Mill Road bridge

A public meeting and plans display for a bridge on Sipes Mill Road over Tonoloway Creek will be held Tuesday, February 17, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Belfast Township Municipal Building, 323 Martin Road, in Needmore.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is developing plans for the Route 3013 (Sipes Mill Road) Bridge Replacement Project in Needmore.

The project includes replacing the existing reinforced concrete T-beam bridge that carries Sipes Mill Road over Tonoloway Creek with a single span prestressed reinforced concrete beam bridge.

It will also include minor approach paving and guiderail updates as well.

A detour will be implemented for both Sipes Mill Road and Black Bear Road during construction.

The plans display for the project will be conducted in an open house format and the purpose of the meeting is provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project.

The Belfast Township Municipal Building is accessible to persons with disabilities and anyone having special needs or requiring special aid is asked to contact PennDOT prior to the meeting.
