Briget Jean Tobin
1974-2026
Briget Jean Tobin, age 51, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at War Memorial Hospital.
Born February 11, 1974 in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of James and JoAnne Michelle Wyman Cabral of Hedgesville, W.Va.
Briget graduated from Crossland High School in Suitland, Md. and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy from Franklin Pierce University.
She worked as a home health aide.
She was affiliated with the Girl Scouts and loved camping, swimming, canoeing, reading and collecting Santas. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Walter Thomas Tobin, at home, one daughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Cabral-Tobin and her fiancé, Tyler Cole White, two sisters, Pamela Ann Cabral, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Carolyn Marie Cabral, Wardensville, W.Va., one niece, Aspen Cadence Cabral, Wardensville, W.Va., her paternal grandmother, Margaret Ann Cabral, Fall River, Mass. and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John Cabral and maternal grandparents, Glen Adelbert Wyman and Kathleen Rose Ketcham Wyman, aunt, Kathy Perkins, uncle, David Wayne Wyman, two cousins, Adam James Wyman and Nicole Ann Cummins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. The family received friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
