Voting has opened for the Washington County Board of Elections “I Voted” Sticker Art Contest. Voting began Monday, January 5, and runs through January 23.
The contest is a creative initiative designed to engage students in Washington County and promote civic pride and participation.
The voting period of January 5 through January 23 allows members of the community to help select the artwork that will be featured on future “I Voted” stickers used during elections in Washington County.
The contest was open to Washington County residents currently enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade, including home-schooled students.
Student artwork was grouped into four categories to ensure age-appropriate competition – Future Voter, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School.
The “I Voted” Sticker Art Contest encourages young residents to express what voting and civic engagement mean to them while fostering early awareness of the democratic process.
The Board of Elections said it is proud to showcase the creativity of students in Washington County and to involve the community in selecting the winning designs.
The survey is located at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DPJQGMJ where you can vote for one sticker per category.
Only one sticker was submitted for the Middle School category and deemed the winner, however it will be announced when all winners are announced, the Board of Elections said last month.
Residents are encouraged to review the submissions and cast their votes by visiting the online survey.
Voting will close at 11:59 p.m. on January 23 and winning designs will be announced following the close of the voting period.
