The Hancock Panthers’ Indoor Track team competed in the Terry Baker Invitational at Hagerstown Community College (HCC) on Friday, December 5.
In the first meet of the year, three Panthers set personal records and several were competing in events for the first time.
Tim Boyer is the new head coach of the indoor track team at Hancock High School with assistants Ed McCarty and Travis Booth along with volunteer coaches Samantha Boyer and Jamie Booth.
The results of the Panther competitors were:
55 M–Boys
Landyn Clark – 7.28 sec (This is .07 off of his best time of 7.21 where he is currently 4th all time at Hancock)

Bailei Ray – 7.77 seconds (This was his first time competing at 55 M – currently 21st all time at Hancock)
55 M–Girls
Madison Booth – 8.47 sec (This was her PR and places her 3rd all time at Hancock)
Makensie Boyer – 8.86 sec (This is .13 off of her best time of 8.73 where she is 7th all time at Hancock).

300 M–Boys
Brody Morris – 48.67 sec (This was his first time completing in this event – currently 30th all time at Hancock)
300M–Girls
Sarah Smith – 53.45 sec (This is 3.47 from her best time of 49.98 where she is 4th all time at Hancock)

500 M–Boys
Brody Morris – 1:32.47 sec (This was his first time competing in this event – currently 15th all time at Hancock).
High Jump–Boys
Jayten McCarty – cleared 5 ft. (Current PR is 5’4” which is currently 4th all time at Hancock)

High Jump — Girls
Madison Booth – cleared 4’9” – placed 4th at the Friday meet (Current PR is 5’2” which is a school record at Hancock)
Shot Put–Boys
Leland Clark – Threw 30’ 5.5” (This was a PR and puts him 15th all time at Hancock)
Jayten McCarty – Threw 33’ 3.25” (This is 4’ 11” below his PR of 38’ 2.25” where he is currently 6th all time at Hancock)
Shot Put — Girls
Makensie Boyer – Threw 25’0.75” (This was a PR and places her 9th all time at Hancock.)
Hancock will compete next at the Jeff Spielman Invitational on December 12 at HCC.
