Marilyn Jean Corbett Walls Bowers

1948-2025

On November 2nd, surrounded by family, Marilyn Jean Corbett Walls Bowers was taken to her heavenly home.

She was born January 26, 1948 in Hancock, Md. to Donald Lee and Virginia (Jean) Iames Corbett.

She attended Hancock High School.

She was an active member of her church community at Hancock Church of God. She was a member of the Hancock Historical Society and helped to conserve the memories and history of our town. She also volunteered at the local foodbank. On top of her volunteer work, Marilyn was also a bright light in her community who found a friend around every corner. She was always ready to listen with a smile and a warm plate of cookies. Kindness was her calling in this life.

She married Harold Neal (Buddy) Walls on March 19 1965. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2003. They were married for 38 years and he was the love of her life. Together, they had four children who strive to follow their loving example. Teresa (m. Emerson Funk Jr.), Neal Walls (m. Kelly Warnik), Susan (m. Phill Braden), and Sandra (m. Matthew Wood). She had 11 grandchildren that adored her: Jami, Rebecca, Kenneth, David, Kayla, Jesse, Nickolas, Emily, Caleb, Taylor, and Jonathan. Her family continued to grow with great-grandchildren: Toby, Elaina, Alyssa, Morgan, and one more to join the group in Winter 2025-2026. She is survived by her brothers, Donald and Ronald Corbett.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, MaryAnn Golden.

Marilyn found love again later with her second husband, Luke Bowers. They were married June 16, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. Together they enjoyed many projects, long walks in the country, and spoiling their dogs. He brought her comfort, companionship, and happiness until the very end.
