Carl Grafton Kidwell
1939-2025
Carl Grafton Kidwell, age 86, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at his home.
Born February 22, 1939 in Great Cacapon, W.Va., he was the son of the late Dayton Victor and Grace Virginia Peck Kidwell.
He was a member of Wesleyan Chapel.
Carl attended Morgan County schools.
He studied the Bible and enjoyed tinkering, working in his machine shop, gardening, logging and carpentry.
He was a saw mill operator and worked at U.S. Silica in maintenance.
Carl is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann Wiles (Eddy) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and two sons, Ricky Lee Kidwell (Valerie) of Noxon, Mont. and Jeffrey Lynn Kidwell of Great Cacapon, W.Va., seven grandchildren, Kacie, Hannah, Wesley, Anna, Olivia, James and Sophie, six great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Ellen Bly of Great Cacapon, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise McCusker Kidwell, two sisters, Nellie Stotler and Alta Johnson, four brothers, Alvia Eugene Kidwell, Wilbur Kidwell, Robert Kidwell and Earl Kidwell and one grandson, Kyle Youngblood.
A funeral service will be held at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Swope officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Great Cacapon, W.Va. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m.
