Lady Panthers pounce on Paw Paw Pirates

by Lisa Schauer

Hancock High School varsity volleyball team won their match in Paw Paw against the lady Pirates last Thursday, October 2 with a final score of 3-1.

“We had a rough start, but the girls dug deep and got the win,” said head coach Christi Mosier.

With just one senior, Kaydence Gaither, on the team, the lady Panthers had to hustle on the court.

“Paw Paw had a good defense so my girls had to work hard to get the kills,” said Mosier.

Juniors Taylor Weller, Kaybree Souders, Maya Shoemaker, and Azalee Souders contributed to the win.

Sophomores Payton McMahon, Laylah Golden, Makensie Boyer, Madison Booth, and Sarah Smith all did their part.

Assistant coach is Kristen Miller.

“The girls earned the victory through hard work and positive energy,” said a proud Coach Mosier after the game.

Going into their home game against Faith Christian Academy on Monday October 6, Hancock stood at 1-4 for the season.
