James Edward Hill

1938-2025

James Edward Hill, age 87, of Stafford, Va., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Warrenton, Va. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed.

Born Saturday, August 20, 1938, in Plum Run, Thompson Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Marshall and Beatrice Stoner Hill. J

im was a Southern Fulton High School graduate, Class of 1956.

He went on to earn an Accounting degree from Strayer College. He owned and operated his printing business in Beltsville, Md. for over thirty-five years.

His love for Jesus Christ was an anchor is his life, having read the complete Bible 37 times.

He also enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, including two cross-country road trips with family, riding in 47 states.

Jim is survived by four sons, Marshall (Reva) Hill of Needmore, Pa., James (Karen) Hill II of Greencastle, Pa., Brian (Jenny) Hill of Stafford, Va., Shawn (Daphne) Hill of Singapore; one daughter Kimberly (Ismael) Vite of Garner, N.C.; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary and Randy Hill; and three sisters, Dorothy Hixon, Eleanor Fink and Milly Hood.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife, Ettie Jane Daniels Hill and one brother, Robert Hill.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Rehobeth United Methodist Church, 2328 Tollgate Ridge Road, Mercersburg, PA 17236, with one-hour prior visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Shepherding couple John and Melissa Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
