1941-2025
Ronald N. Capper, age 84, of Hedgesville, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Mr. Capper was born May 23, 1941 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He was a 1960 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army with 26 years of active duty service, during which he served in Vietnam, Korea and Germany.
He is survived by his son Michael Capper and wife, Nikki of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., brother, Steve Compton, grandchildren Kayla Kyle and Damen Capper and wife, Brianna and great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Kasey and Isaac Kyle.
In addition to his parents, Lottie Compton and Emmett Capper, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica “Ronnie” Capper, sons, Ronald and Kevin Capper, one sister, Debbie Compton and brothers, Emmett Capper and Lynn Compton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15 at Oakland Cemetery, 1650 Sticky Kline Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Lisa Unger officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV.
