Nancy C. Rinard
1950-2025
Nancy C. Rinard (75) went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
She was born February 13, 1950, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. to Robert Vernon and Ora Mae (Hovermale) Thompson.
She was a graduate of Hancock High School class of 1968.
On August 29, 1970, she was wed to her late husband, Alton L. Rinard, at the Hancock Assembly of God. Together they raised four children and shared 53 years of marriage.
Nancy was a life-long and faithful member of Hancock Assembly of God where she served as Sunday School secretary/treasurer, Missionette teacher, volunteer cook at many youth camps, and secretary/treasurer for the world missions department.
She had been employed with Peoples Bank of Hancock, the G.C. Murphy Company, Hancock High School as a part-time aide, and was a full-time homemaker.
She had an innate gift for making a little go a long way. When she wasn’t running her daily household affairs, she enjoyed family dinners and game nights, puzzles, needlepointing, sewing, newspaper crosswords, sharing an ice cream treat with her family & going to see her beloved Booth Brothers gospel music group with Missy. One of her greatest loves was sending cards to people for all occasions. From birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, sympathy and “we miss you” cards, she was always letting people know that she was thinking of them.
She is survived by her children, Melissa K. Rinard, Hancock, Md., Daniel L. Rinard (Roberta), Somersworth, N.H., William V. Rinard (Jennifer), Joshua, Texas and David J. Rinard (Kimberly), Great Cacapon, W.Va. She loved her grandchildren, Victoria Naglieri (Benjamin), Adrienne Ismail (Darion Brown), Jordan Rinard (Mickayla), Elizabeth Rinard, Rebecca Rinard, Garrett Rinard and Gabriel Rinard. She also loved her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lucas, Micah, Amari, Adrian and Ezra. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Jane Sarricchio, Connie Malekar, Terry Thompson (Marla), Mark Thompson (Anya), Susan Bennett (Jack), and Timothy Thompson, one special aunt, Opal McCusker, one special uncle, James Hovermale (Teresa), sisters-in-law, Donna Beatty Morse (Roy), Lois Myers, Brenda Douglas and Bonnie Unger.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her husband’s parents, Alton William and Martha Pauline (Potter) Rinard, her sister, Patricia A. Woodal, brothers-in-law, Jerry L. Beatty, David L. Woodal, Robert D. Sarricchio, Sr., Gene A. Myers and Ricky E. Unger, Sr., and a nephew, Matthew Wood.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Hancock Assembly of God, 431 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Hancock, Md. with Pastors Kaleb Trail and Donald Preston. Interment will be in Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Warfordsburg, Pa. Visiting hours will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 and one hour prior to services on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the church.
