Phyllis Eileen Moss
1951-2025
Phyllis Eileen Moss, age 74, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at War Memorial Hospital.
Born January 12, 1951 in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard Charles Nelson, Sr. and the late Betty Jane Hogbin Nelson.
She was a Christian.
Phyllis was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and went to James Rumsey Technical Institute for 2 years.
She worked as an agent with Arndt-McBee Insurance Agency in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Phyllis was a lifetime member of Women of the Moose Chapter #1311 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. where she held numerous offices and earned her College of Regents Degree in 2017.
She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo.
Phyllis was an avid Dallas Cowboys and West Virginia University football fan and a Yankees baseball fan.
She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed showing her support at their sport games.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Angela Sue Hensley of Warfordsburg, Pa., Kimberly Dawn Faith (Mike) of Clear Spring, Md. and Clint Edward Moss of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., one sister, Brenda Elizabeth Somers of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., one brother, Howard Charles “Pete” Nelson, Jr. (Janet) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., 11 grandchildren, Steven Charles Munson, Tyler Matthew Edward Landers, James Alvin Robinson III, Michael Troy Moss, John Thomas “J.T.” Moss, Gehrig Edward Moss, Skylar Shevelle Moss and Thurman Jeorge Edward Moss, Amber Marie Holmes, Laci Nichole Faith and Kasen Lee “Jack” Roper, 13 great-grandchildren, Rilee Payton Walter, Colsen Ryder Deibert-Landers, Cameron Edward Munson, Aurora Ann Marie Moss and Raylynn Ann Landers, Jace Braxton Moss, Harlynn Grace VanGosen, Mariah Dawn Holmes, Kaylee Raine Holmes, Brayden Michael Sims, Jaylyn Faith Sims, Landon Grant Smith and Dixie Rae Warner, one great-great-grandchild, Kehlani Marie Holmes, one special aunt, Donna J. Youngblood and three nieces, Amy Jane Weber, Teresa Jane Kees and Anne Marie Nelson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Moss and one son, Thomas Roy “Petey” Moss, one son-in-law, Eric Todd Hensley and one nephew-in-law, Steven Lynn Weber.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Ricky Love will officiate. Private burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday where a memorial service will be provided by the Women of the Moose Chapter #1311 at 5 p.m.
