Patricia Ann Dodson (née Barnhart), 83, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Jacksonville, N.C.
Born on July 20, 1941, in Warfordsburg, Pa., Patricia lived a life marked by devotion—to her faith, her family, and her work. Faith was the cornerstone of Patricia’s life. Her spiritual journey was central to her daily walk with the Lord and guided every aspect of how she lived. She was a devoted member of her church community and found joy and strength through worship and fellowship.
Patricia dedicated over two decades of service to the Marine Corps Exchange, where she retired as the Women’s Fashion Buyer. She took great pride in her role and found deep fulfillment in her work. Her professionalism and commitment left a lasting impression on those she worked with throughout the years.
Family was Patricia’s greatest treasure. She shared a deep and enduring love with her late husband Ralph, who was truly the love of her life. Together they built a family that brought them immense pride and joy.
Patricia is lovingly remembered by her children: Tammy (Kevin), Thad (Emily) and Tina (Daniel); grandchildren: Kiley (Evan), Sarah (Mik), Sam (Hillary) and Jessie; and great-grandchildren: Kyal and Olivia. Her siblings Hobart, Rick and Norma also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph; her parents James and Gwendolyn; and brothers James, Jr. and Roger.
Patricia will be remembered for her unwavering generosity, steadfast faith, and deep love for those around her. Her presence brought warmth to every room she entered, and her legacy lives on through the lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church of Jacksonville Building Fund in honor of Patricia’s lifelong devotion to her faith community. May Patricia’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service was held on July 8, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home 303 Chaney Avenue, Jacksonville, N.C. Visitation was one hour prior to the service.
