With a 7-3 victory over South County last Thursday, June 26, the Hancock Little League Softball team is heading to Pocomoke City on the Eastern Shore to take on Pocomoke Little League in state play.
That game will be the start of the Maryland state tournament and will begin Monday, July 7, at 6 p.m.
Hancock Little League President Brandon Utermoehlen said the league “couldn’t be more proud of these incredible young ladies” for bringing the title back to Hancock.

It was their hard work, heart, and determination that made the entire community beam with pride, he said.
Utermoehln said there’s not a doubt in the league’s mind if the girls keep grinding and pushing forward with the same fire an focus, they have everything it takes to bring Hancock its first-ever state title.
“The future is bright, and this team is just getting started!” he said.
The team is managed by Dustin Beal with the help of Coaches Tim Boyer and Natasha Souders.
The players on the team are #5 Maria Beal, #19 Clair Souders, #72 Allyson Bivens, #15 Peyton Caprenter, #23 Anistyn Reiter, #32 Maci Lynch, #23 Caelyn Hohn, #12 McKinley Sigel, #2 Ashtyn Zirkle, #42 Ainsley Zirkle, #13 Mya McCusker, #3 Kyleigh Boyer, and #24 Brelyn Reiter.
