Panther baseball looking for next win

Hancock’s baseball team heads into this week striving for their next win, following a series of tough losses at home and on the road. They head into the final stage of the season with a record of 4-7.

Last Thursday, the Panthers fell to the Southern Rams 10-4, scoring in the second and fourth innings but coming up short for the remainder of the game. The Rams took the lead in the second inning with six runs, then stacked on four more in the fifth inning to solidify their win. Scoring for the Panthers were Tyler Clingerman, Logan Hendershot (two runs) and Hayden McCarty.

Hancock took a harder hit from the Global Vision Christian School Broadfording’s Lions last Tuesday, April 22, as they fell 17-2 with a very early lead by Broadfording on their home field. By the second inning, the Lions had racked up 11 runs and kept adding to the scoreboard until the fifth inning, when the game was called. Hancock scored runs in the first and third innings.

The Panthers were set to face off against the Northern Garrett Huskies on Monday and will head to Clear Spring on Thursday to take on the Blazers. This Friday, May 2, Hancock will host Broadfording’s Lions.
