Hancock’s annual Easter egg hunt was “egg-stra” chilly

by Lisa Schauer

Dozens of local families, volunteers, and visitors showed up for the 21st annual Easter egg hunt held at Widmeyer Park in Hancock on Saturday, April 12.

Cool and cloudy weather didn’t dampen the children’s enthusiasm. People lined up for a picture with the Easter bunny.

Sponsored by the Hancock Lions Club and Hancock United Methodist Church, the event also featured 16 gift basket door prizes, and a bike raffle to benefit Camp Joy.

Lions Club members had stuffed over 1,300 plastic Easter eggs with candy and dollar bills, then scattered them across the grass in preparation for the annual hunt.

All the eggs were collected, opened and recycled for next year’s hunt.
