Bernard Hugh Kave, Jr.

1952-2025

Bernard Hugh Kave, Jr., age 73, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away with his family by his side and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at his home.

Born February 17, 1952 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Bernard Hugh Kave, Sr. and Thelma Virginia Close Kave-Payne.

Bernard was a Christian and attended Word of Deliverance Church and Berkeley Springs Church of the Nazarene.

He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

He was a truck driver and drove for Roadway, Yellow Freight and Tamko.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with the grandkids and traveling with family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela Jean Fleece Kave, one daughter, Heather Michelle Roling (Anthony), two grandchildren, Michael and Bernadette Roling, all of Berkeley Springs and one sister, Mary Kathryn Kave of Silver Spring, Md.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Rodney Truax and Pastor Lisa Unger officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, 522 south, following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
