Pipeline work to cause delays on Berm Road

by Geoff Fox

Work on the natural gas pipeline from Pennsylvania into West Virginia is still ongoing but may create delays for those folks wanting to use Berm Road.

Right now, TC Energy is at the stage where they are boring pipe under Berm Road, which may incur temporary closures over the next two weeks.

In an email, a media relations spokesperson told The Hancock News those closures have been carefully planned and approved in collaboration with both Washington County and the Maryland Department of Transportation.

A detour has been developed to maintain traffic flow and minimize disruption to the community during any road closures.

Locher Road will remain open to local traffic during this time, the spokesperson said.

“We are committed to working safely and efficiently to limit impacts to local residents while completing this work,” they said.
