Beverly Jean Locke, age 84, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born December 7, 1940, in Everett, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John A. and Laura Taylor Rowe, both born in Newfoundland, Canada.
She graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School in Mass., class of 1958, moving away in 1963, living in Ohio, Texas, Alabama and Virginia, before moving to Berkeley Springs in 1988.
She loved secretarial work and enjoyed working in many offices over the years, especially for BTM Tax Office here in Berkeley Springs, during tax seasons for over 16 years.
Beverly was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and especially loved working with the GoFriends children’s program each week, sharing weekly photos she took of the children and their activities. She was a (charter) member of the KnitWits of Berkeley Springs where she shared her love of knitting for over 20 years. The group made items and shared with others and brought many smiles to people’s faces.
Most of all she loved to spend time with her children and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and loved to travel when able, taking several trips to Newfoundland as well as traveling across the U.S. several times to visit Bill’s family in California, Montana and Wyoming.

She is survived also by her sister, Donna Lee Fowlie, Mount Juliet, Tenn.; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. She also left many nieces, nephews and cousins in the States and in Newfoundland.
