The Hancock Panthers boys’ varsity basketball team scored the most points they’ve had this season in their non-conference game against the Pirates in Paw Paw on Monday, January 13, but it wasn’t enough to take the win.
The Pirates captured the win by a score of 76-66.
Even though they came up short, the Panthers finished the game strong with 12 offensive rebounds.
The 2-5 Panthers are ranked 268th in Maryland, while the 2-6 Pirates are ranked 98th in West Virginia.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances.
Jacob Anderson posted 19 points. Anderson also racked up four assists.
Another player making a difference was Colton Welch, who earned 18 points.
Next up, the Panthers host the 14-0 Maryland School for the Deaf on Tuesday, January 21 at 7 p.m. at Hancock Middle Senior High School.
