Monday’s holiday meant an extra day for some folks to clean up from a Sunday, January 19 snowstorm that blanketed the region, dropping four to eight inches of precipitation and beginning this week’s plunge into arctic temperatures. By Wednesday, the mercury is set to drop to subzero levels, with Hancock and the surrounding area expecting thermometer readings and “feels like” temps in the negative teens. Residents are advised to stay indoors and prepare their homes and farms for the extreme cold.
