Marie Fern Shoemaker Seeley
1939-2025
Marie Fern Shoemaker Seeley, age 85, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Moran Manor in Westernport, Md.
Born May 14, 1939 in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ralph William and Letha Geneva Stotler.
She was a member of the Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church. Marie was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
She worked until her retirement with Fleetwood Industries in Hancock, Md. and had worked at Cacapon State Park in the housekeeping department. Marie enjoyed cooking, yard work, gardening, flower gardening, caring for her grandchildren and going to church.
Marie is survived by her children, Larry Dale Shoemaker (Vivian), Diane Marie Taylor and Gerald Richard Shoemaker, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Danny Charles Shoemaker of Hancock, Md., one sister, Bernadine Virginia Hobday of Culleoka, Tenn., one brother, Raymond Ray Stotler of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., seven grandchildren, Lisa Shaw, Tara Brooks, Crystal Taylor, Jason Shoemaker and Meagan Boyce all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Kayla Shoemaker and Mirriah Shoemaker, both of Hancock, Md., nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Dale Shoemaker, her second husband, Earl Seeley, one son, Craig Edward Shoemaker, one son-in-law, Roger Lee Taylor, one sister, Ruth Lucille Daniels and two brothers, Wilson Ralph Stotler and Richard Charles Stotler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Matthew Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
