In an emailed letter to parents, Hancock High School has announced there will be some changes when it comes to celebrating Homecoming this year.
The Homecoming game was supposed to be played Friday, October 25, against Brownsville High School (Pa.), with spirit week that week.
However, Brownsville canceled the game.
Hancock has rescheduled the Homecoming game to be Thursday, October 17, at 6 p.m. against Seen School out of Baltimore.
The Spirit Week will be held next week – the week of October 14 — and the pep rally will be held the day of the game, October 17.
The school’s Homecoming Dance, though, will remain on the original date of Saturday, October 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“We understand the significance of this event for our students and community and appreciate your understanding and flexibility with this change,” Principal Jennifer Ruppenthal said in the letter to parents and shared with the Hancock News. “We are looking forward to a fantastic game and celebration on the new date!”
