Dennis Patrick Samson
1944-2024
Dennis Patrick Samson, age 80, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Hospice of The Panhandle, Kearneysville, W.Va.
Born February 6, 1944 in Acushnet, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph Antonio Louis Samson and June Rose White Samson.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, New Bedford, Mass. and attended NYCC where he studied basic psychology.
Dennis was co-owner of The Captain’s Galley Restaurant from 1971 to 1973. He was also the owner and director of Acorn Hill Home Care Center in Middleboro, Mass. for 42 years and retired in 2020. Dennis was blessed with a career he truly loved where he cared for veterans who helped to keep our freedom.
He was a member of King Hiram’s Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Provincetown, Mass.
Dennis is survived by his spouse of 16 years, R. Reagan Robertson, Jr., two sisters, Diane O’Leary (Stella) of Leominster, Mass. and Paulette Rua (Dennis) of Redondo Beach, Calif., one nephew, Jeffrey Rua (Ofelia) two nieces, June Plaud (David) and Margaret Gallagher (Jim), five grandnephews, one grandniece, three great grandnieces and one great grandnephew.
Dennis lived life to the fullest and was grateful for the love of his family and circle of friends that supported him. Reagan and Dennis were their loves of a lifetime.
Services will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 15. 2024 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service time. Rev. Sha Gomez will officiate. Burial will be in Nemasket Hill Cemetery in Middleboro, Mass.
