Doris Jean Spring
1938-2024
Doris Jean Spring, age 85, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born August 21, 1938 in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Scott and Ruth Porter Holiday.
She attended Mt. Zion Orleans Community Church in Great Cacapon.
Jean was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
She worked as a front desk clerk at the Berkeley Springs State Park. Jean was a clerk with High’s Convenience Store, Maggio’s General Store and worked at the Interwoven Hosiery Mill. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, canning, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her children, Roger Deron Spring and his wife, Joyce, Lisa Kay Miller and her husband, Tim and Bradley Blaine Spring and his wife, Bridgette, all of Great Cacapon, eight grandchildren, Jessica, Nathan, Matthew, Ashley, Daniel, James, Corey and Blaine “Buck,” ten great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Wyatt, Graysen, Ivy, Khloe, Brooklyn, Bentley, Blaine, Jr., Olivia and Emmett and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ulysses Spring, two children, Darrell Gene Spring and Ronald Eugene Spring, one grandson, Austin Nichols Miller, four sisters, Betty See, Peggy Kelly, Winnie Hiles and Pat Parker and three brothers, Raymond Holiday, Butch Holiday and Archie Holiday.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, 791 Nebo Road, Great Cacapon, W.Va. Pastor Dick Voorhaar will officiate.
