Hancock Middle Senior High School to host orientations

Hancock Middle Senior High School has announced it will host orientations for rising sixth graders and ninth graders on Thursday, August 22 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Incoming middle school and high school students will be paired with student mentors who will serve as guides and role models.

Student mentors have undergone training to develop leadership skills, build empathy, and cultivate a positive and supportive peer culture within the school.

Students will participate in team-building activities, icebreakers, and tours of the school.

The orientations are part of the school’s “Where Everyone Belongs” (WEB) program to support students as they enter middle school and high school.

“Our goal with the WEB program is to ensure that every incoming student feels welcomed, supported, and connected as they make the transition to middle school and high school,” said Principal Jennifer Ruppenthal.

The WEB program is part of a nationwide high school and middle school transition program offered to educators in over 4,500 schools.

Bus transportation will be provided. Impacted parents and guardians will receive additional information from the school.
