The Hancock Presbyterian Church consecrated their new “Churchyard Chapel” on Sunday, July 14.

Cody Booth, a 17-year-old Scout of Troop 15 and church member, began this Eagle Scout project by designing this area to include a raised platform for a Communion Table and Pulpit, and steps leading to an outdoor seating arena.

In January 2023, Booth proposed his project, which is now complete with the help of his fellow Scouts, his family (father Travis Booth and grandfather Richard Scott) and a team from the church family, (especially Carl Younker, B.B. and Shirley Ruppenthal, Steve Douglas, Ron Martin-Minnich and many others).

The church family also celebrated the awarding of the Eagle Scout rank to Booth by Scoutmaster Neal Walls.

“Our gratitude goes out to everyone who helped with work and donations, food, time and talents, but above all to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His leading and provision—as the old hymn reminds us, ‘To God be the Glory, Great Things He Hath Done’,” said Rev. Terry Martin-Minnich, pastor of the church.
