Arlie Schetrompf
1944-2024
Arlie “Dan,” “Dandy” Schetrompf, age 80 years old, 5 months, 18 days passed away at his primary residence on June 22, 2024.
Born January 4, 1944, in Warfordsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Arlie J. Schetrompf and Hazel Bishop Schetrompf. Dan was the husband of Viola Hoopengardner Schetrompf whom were married July 31, 1964.
He retired from Maryland Correctional Institute after thirty years of service; retiring as a major.
He was a master mason. He was a 1962 graduate from Southern Fulton High School, Warfordsburg, Pa.
Besides his wife of almost sixty years, he is survived by daughter Ruthann True (Jeff), daughter Lindy Morris (George), one son Danny Schetrompf (Nicole), two sisters Norma (Sally) Payne, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Arlene Lemmert, Falling Waters, W.Va., six grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by one sister Mary King; two brothers Lynn (Bill) Schetrompf and Kenneth (Nuke) Schetrompf and son-in-law Leslie Golden III.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Hancock Assembly of God, 431 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, Md. Pastor Don Preston will officiate. Burial will follow at the Buck Valley Methodist Church, intersection of Rt. 484 and Rt. 731, Buck Valley, Pa.
