Roger Lee Youngblood
1946-2024
Roger Lee Youngblood, age 77, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born December 10, 1946 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of Cecelia Pleasant Everett Youngblood (Sis) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and the late Joseph Andrew Youngblood.
He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and attended Shepherd College where he studied physics.
Roger worked on the Youngblood family farm and at Joe’s Radio Shop with his parents.
He was a talented musician who played bass, guitar and banjo. He played bass in The Needle’s Eye, a folk rock band.
In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Anderson Youngblood, at home, one daughter, Selena Youngblood Gregory and husband Tracy of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., two grandsons, Devin Myer and his wife Madison of Great Cacapon, W.Va. and Alex Myer and his wife Hailey of Hedgesville, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Services and burial will be private.
