Daniel Leroy Eddy
1953-2024
Daniel Leroy Eddy, age 70, of Hedgesville, W.Va., died on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born November 14, 1953 in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Ray Weller and Theabelle Elizabeth Harnish Eddy.
He was a graduate of Hancock High School.
Daniel served with the United States Army from September 24, 1971 until his honorable discharge on September 23, 1974 during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Marksman Badge M-16, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Marksman Badge with Grenade.
Danny worked as a supervisor with Wolf & Sons Paving Company.
He enjoyed reading, cooking, blacksmithing and was a history enthusiast.
Danny is survived by his significant other of 35 years, Darlene Lynn Ours, at home, five children, Elyse Eddy of Martinsburg, W.Va., Mike Keebaugh and family of Needmore, Pa., Angie Sensel and her husband Brad of Hedgesville, W.Va., Riley Ours and his wife Andrea of Clovis, N.M. and Stacy Hoover and her family of Cumberland, Md., one sister, Barbara Ann Payne of Hagerstown, Md., one brother, Steven Ray Eddy of Hancock, Md., four grandchildren, Ethan, Braden, Chelsie and Logan, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Lee Eddy.
Services and burial will be at a later date.
