Panther girls on winning streak

Hancock’s girls’ varsity softball team has hit their winning formula on the field, pounding in three wins in a row in the last week of play.

Last Monday, April 8, the Lady Panthers topped McConnellsburg’s Spartans 9-5.

On Wednesday, April 10, Hancock beat Goretti’s Gaels 11-6 with a steady stream of runs that put them far ahead by the fifth inning. Heavy errors by the Gaels favored the Panthers as they consistently connected with Goretti’s pitches for a solid win.

Hancock finished out last week with a third win over the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams on Friday, April 12. The Panthers took their time getting on the scoreboard but started piling up runs in the fourth inning and didn’t stop until they closed out a hometown victory, 9-5.

The Lady Panthers were set to face off against the Berkeley Springs Indians at home on Tuesday night, April 16, and then host Forbes Road High School of Pa. on Friday, April 19.
