Panther boys’ varsity baseball heads into this week’s action on the diamond with their second win under their belt.
Hancock topped Grace Academy on the home field in a tight contest last Tuesday, April 9, with a final score of 8-7. The Panthers started out strong, with six runs on the scoreboard by the end of the second inning, but the Grace Knights didn’t let Hancock rest, adding runs in the fifth inning to keep the game within reach. Panther juniors Shawn Thomas, Logan Trumpower and Blaire Ray contributed two runs each, and sophomores Tyler Clingerman and Brooks Norris added their runs to the final win.
Hancock hosted the McConnellsburg Spartans at home this Monday, April 15 but fell to the Fulton County team 7-2. Junior Shawn Thomas and freshman Chandler Buskirk contributed the Panther’s two runs in the third and fourth innings while the Spartans skipped through the game on an early lead of four runs in the first inning.
The Panthers will travel to Fort Hill tonight, Wednesday, April 17 to meet the Sentinels on their home field.
On Friday, April 19, Hancock will host the Forbes Road Cardinals.
