Theresa Stella Gallo
1929-2024
Theresa Stella Gallo, age 95, of Deptford, N.J. and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Spring Hills Post-Acute Woodbury Facility in Woodbury, N.J.
Born January 9, 1929 in Dorothy, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Merlock Giercyk.
She attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where she had been active in the altar/rosary society.
Theresa was a graduate of Egg Harbor City High School.
She worked as a clerk with Stecher Jewelers in Pleasantville, N.J.
Mrs. Gallo was a member of the Morgan County Red Hat Society, Morningside CEO’s and Senior Life Services of Morgan County.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and reading.
Mrs. Gallo is survived by her children, Thomas Frank Gallo of Weymouth, N.J. and Joanne Marie Gallo-Morgenweck and her husband, Jeffery of Deptford, N.J., three brothers, Frank Giercyk, Louis Giercyk and Albert Giercyk, two grandchildren, Chelsea Lauren Morgenweck and Dylan Zachary Morgenweck and his wife, Megan and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Folino Gallo on July 23, 2004.
A Catholic Rite of Committal will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Greenway Cemetery, 284 Greenway Drive, Berkeley Springs, with Father Elias O’Brien officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Theresa’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Altar/Rosary Society, PO Box 634, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
