Jeffery Scott McBee
1974-2024
Jeffery Scott McBee, age 49, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., joined his grandparents, Donald and Alice McBee and Woodrow and Esther Parker on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, Md. surrounded by his family and while under the care of Hospice of Washington County after a nearly six year battle with kidney cancer.
Born October 25, 1974 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of Jeffery Sterling and Patsy Ann Parker McBee of Berkeley Springs.
He worked at Volvo in Hagerstown, Md., but he was always Chef Jeff at heart. Jeffery received his culinary training with Treasure Island in San Francisco, Calif. and worked at various restaurants in California, Virginia and West Virginia. He loved watching everyone enjoy his cooking even after he was no longer able to himself.
Jeffery enjoyed camping and fishing. He fished from the Great Lakes to Key West and Hawaii to here at home on the Cacapon River. When his body no longer allowed him to go to the water he played a fishing game on his phone.
Jeffery’s mind was like a sponge, absorbing all the knowledge he could. If you ever had a question on just about any topic, he would have the answer quicker than Google.
In addition to his parents, Jeffery is survived by siblings Audrey, David and Danae and nieces and nephews, Monica, Samantha, Delenn and Dakota. He was a friend to everyone he met.
Jeffery’s wishes was to donate his body to West Virginia University for cancer research.
