Edith Etta Hovermale
1947-2024
Edith Etta Hovermale, age 76, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born April 21, 1947 in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Ardell and Eunice Porter Spielman.
She attended public schools in Morgan County.
Edith worked in the molding department with Fleetwood Trailers until retirement.
She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and watching her horses.
Edith is survived by her sons, Richard “Butch” Hovermale and his fiancé, Sherry and Dayton “Jody” Hovermale and his wife, Stacey, all of Berkeley Springs, two grandchildren, Leonard Hovermale and Crystal Litaker, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Rocky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McKinley Hovermale, Sr. two sisters, Lila Mae Spielman, Ruth Ann Spielman, one infant brother, William Spielman, four brothers, Richard Spielman, Donald Spielman, David Spielman and Wayne Spielman and one daughter-in-law, Beverly Gail Rockwell Hovermale.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family received friends from 11 a.m. until service time. Joshua Hetrick officiated. Burial was in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
