John Edward Barker
1935-2024
John Edward “Dick” Barker, age 89, of Hancock, Md., passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at his home.
Born Saturday, January 12, 1935, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clarence Luther and Daisy Pearl Karns Barker.
Dick served in the United States Army.
He was a manager for Fairview Orchards in Hancock, Md. and worked for Fleetwood Enterprises.
He was a member of the Morgan County Saddle Club and Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club. He also enjoyed riding horses.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Junior and Ralph Barker and three sisters, Frances Moss, Anna Bell McCumbee and Julia Mae Cunningham.
Dick is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Pauline E. Clingerman Barker of Hancock; one son, Richard T. Barker of Hancock; one brother, Ronald Lee Barker of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 12 p.m. with a two-hour visitation prior to the service at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock Md. Pastor Lisa Hiles-Unger will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W Washington St, Hagerstown, Md. 21740. Military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Dick may be made to Tri-State Honor Guard, 527 N. Washington St., Berkeley Springs, W.Va., 25411.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, MD.
