Lina Lorene MacMichael
1941-2024
Lina Lorene MacMichael, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Warfordsburg, Pa., on Monday, January 22, 2024.
Born Saturday, July 26, 1941, in Berwyn, Md., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Lina (Morgan) Thies.
Lina was a graduate of High Point High School in Beltsville, Md., class of 1959.
She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hancock, Md.
She loved to sew and worked for many years for craftspeople making custom handbags.
After retiring, she made and altered clothing and transitioned to making rag quilts in her later years. She made dozens of quilts and gave most of them away.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Chip.
Lina is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Ralph; four children, Judy MacMichael, Scott MacMichael (wife Barb), Jan MacMichael (partner Cody) and Jill MacMichael Gerosa (husband Jerry); five grandchildren, Molly Allen (husband Donnie) and children Oscar and Ben, Jessica MacMichael, CJ Plunkard and children Oakley and Sawyer, Justin Plunkard and children March, Nixon and Lincoln, and Megan Younker (husband Kyle) and children Liam, Nolan, and Amelia; and three sisters, Gracie, Katie, and Carla.
There will be a gathering of friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 1-3 p.m., at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD. 21750.
