Norma Virginia Bishop, 78, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at her home in Hancock, Md.

Born Tuesday, February 20, 1945, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Amelia Barnes Dixon.

Norma graduated from Flintstone High School, Class of 1963.

She was a dedicated employee of London Fog in Hancock, Md., where she worked as a seamstress for fifteen years, 1980-1995. She then went on to work for Rayloc in Hancock, Md., where she retired in 2007 after fifteen years of service. She attended Mt Olivet Presbyterian Church in Hancock, Md.

Norma enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell “Neal” Bishop; four brothers, Wayne Dixon, David Dixon, Johnny Dixon and Kenny Dixon; one sister, Wanda Byers; and one son-in-law, David Reed. Norma is survived by one sister, Connie Sellars of Georgia; two sons, Russell Bishop (Christina) of Flintstone, Md., and Erick Bishop of Hancock, Md; three daughters, Jenny Reed of Hancock, Md., Diana Cangialosi (Joseph) of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Sandy Bishop (Greg Brustad) of Hancock, Md.; four grandchildren, Scott, Cody, Faith and Hope; three great grandchildren, Litton, Lalei and Lena.

The family received friends on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Mt Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock, Maryland. A funeral service followed at 11 a.m., at the church, Rev. Ron Martin-Minnich officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, Md.
