Allen Eugene Wigfield
1943-2024
Allen Eugene Wigfield, 80, of Warfordsburg, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his home in Warfordsburg.
Born Monday, December 13, 1943, in Roaring Springs, Pa., he was the son of the late Amos and Laura (Winck) Wigfield of Artemas, Pa.
Allen was a retired machine operator at Rayloc, Hancock, Md. Prior to that he was a drywall finisher for Foremost Homes, Greencastle, Pa.
He was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Artemas, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and ten sisters.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Janet Faye (Clingerman) Wigfield; two sons, William Eugene Wigfield and wife Sherry, Dean Allen Wigfield, and significant other Janet Steiner; four grandchildren, Jessica Joann Crouse and husband Levi, Ashley Nichole Francis and husband John, Karissa Ann Cochran and husband Brandon, Lee Allen Wigfield; five great grandchildren, Bryson and Archer Crouse, Cole and Jack Francis and Waylon Cochran.
The family received friends on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., and 10 a.m., on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Jerusalem Christian Church, 269 Church Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267. Funeral service followed Tuesday at 11 a.m., at the church. Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery. Pastors Milton Morris and Daryl Trail Jr. officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Allen’s name can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 4301 Fairfax Drive, Suite 200, Arlington, VA 22203 or Franklin County Hospice, 209 Grant Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
