Ross Henry Gordon
1943-2023
Ross Henry Gordon, Needmore, Pa., passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, Md.
He was born on April 21, 1943, the son of the late Henry and Virginia (Coffman) Gordon.
He was a 1961 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, Warfordsburg, Pa.
He was retired from Mack Truck after 36 years of service and was employed at Hagerstown Speedway for 22 years. He held numerous other positions and various memberships throughout the surrounding communities.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley (Everts) Gordon; his children, Vicki Howell, R. Todd Gordon, and Marsha (Jim) Minteer; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Josh) Marro, Joshua Hall, Seth Hall, Teri Minteer (fiancé Justin Barnard), Emily Howell, Sage Minteer and Sydney Howell; his great-grandchildren, Karlie, Karmyn and Hayden Marro; his brothers, Roy, Steve and Bob Gordon; his sisters, Carolyn Hollenshead and Sara Jean (Harry) Landers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kenneth Howell.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 16, 2023, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Damascus Christian Church, 717 Big Cove Tannery Road, Big Cove Tannery, Pa. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery following the service.
