David Richard Yost
1963-2023
David Richard Yost, age 60, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born July 4, 1963 in Jacksonville, N.C., he was the son of David C. Yost of Berkeley Springs and the late Judith Diane Richard Yost.
He was a member of Highland Church.
David was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and received his construction certificate from James Rumsey Technical Institute.
He was owner-operator of his own construction business.
David loved the outdoors- canoeing, hiking, camping and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to travel, touring the United States on his Harley-Davidson with his wife, Teresa.
David was a proud father and loved spending time with his two daughters and grandchildren.
In addition to his father, David is survived by his wife, Teresa Lynn Michael Yost, at home; two daughters, Holly Elaine Yost Schetrompf and her husband, Jason of Berkeley Springs and Lesley Diane Yost and her husband, William Boni of Morgantown, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Emily Lane Yost, Madelynn Marie Schetrompf, Penelope Reign Boni and William Yost Boni; one sister, Lori Shaffer and her husband, Jack of Berkeley Springs; his stepmother, Mary Lee Clark Yost of Berkeley Springs; four stepsiblings, Vicki Truax of Needmore, Pa., Jack McCarty of Hagerstown, Md., Craig McCarty of Waynesboro, Va., and Scott Diehl of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher F. Yost.
Graveside funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 10, at Highland Cemetery, 4326 Highland Ridge Road, Berkeley Springs, with Pastor Kenny Mason officiating. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.
