Md. police say Berkeley Springs man killed in crash last Thursday

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said it is looking for the driver of a vehicle that crashed in the Adamstown area of Frederick County, Maryland early Thursday, August 17. The crash killed a passenger in the vehicle but the driver fled, said police.

The front-seat passenger, Kelby Ryan Lester, 24, was last known to have an address in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, police said. Lester was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to the accident scene at approximately 3:20 a.m. and observed a 2022 Nissan Altima off the road. Officers believe the vehicle went off the roadway at a curve, traveled down a hill, then hit a tree, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff office asked that anyone with possible information about the accident to contact Deputy Bryan Bittenmaster at 240-285-5604.
